Nalandabodhi offers a graduated meditation curriculum for all levels of practitioners. Students can receive guidance in meditation practice through public classes, published meditation materials, and individual training with experienced instructors. The Nalandabodhi path of meditation includes:
- mindfulness meditation (shamatha)
- analytical meditation (vispashyana)
- compassion practices (bodhichitta)
- Vajrayana practices
- Mahamudra and Dzogchen practices
We welcome newcomers and offer meditation instruction to new and seasoned meditators alike.
Shamatha Meditation
Sitting meditation is regularly scheduled at Nalandabodhi centres. These sessions sometimes include viewing DVD teachings by The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.
Tara Practice
Tara practice is especially powerful for removing negativity, overcoming fears, and creating favourable conditions for practice. It is practised individually and as a group.
Community Practice Day
Nalandabodhi centres organize community practice for one or two days each month. This includes sitting meditation, walking meditation, and other practices open to the public. The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche encourages Nalandabodhi students and study group participants to attend all or at least part of Community Practice Day.
Guru Rinpoche Practice
This brief Guru Rinpoche practice of Padmasambhava is practised individually and as a group.
Prayer 4 Peace
In response to our troubled world, Rinpoche has instructed us to engage in the Prayer 4 Peace, a Vajrasattva practice. For more information, please visit the website www.prayer4peace.net.
