Hinayana View (INT 200, HIN 210, HIN 211)

This eight week course is first course in the Nalandabodhi Study Curriculum. This comprehensive curriculum in Buddhist studies adapts the traditional curriculum taught in Tibetan Buddhist educational academies for Western audiences. Students who continue with the program will progress sequentially through basic Buddhist introductory topics, the increasingly complex topics of the Hinayana and Mahayana studies, and conclude with the subtleties of the Vajrayana.

The Nalandabodhi Toronto Study Group is dedicated to the study and practice of Buddhism, a science of mind, under the direction of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is acknowledged as one of the foremost scholars of his generation in the Nyingma and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He is known for his sharp intellect, humour, and the lucidity of his teaching style. Fluent in the English language and well-versed in Western culture, Rinpoche is also an accomplished calligrapher, visual artist and poet.
Rinpoche is a prolific teacher and author. His teachings have been widely published in Bodhi Magazine and other venues. In 2001, Siddhi Publications released Penetrating Wisdom. Rinpoche's latest book is Wild Awakening: The Heart of Mahamudra and Dzogchen.

Rinpoche has dedicated himself to the preservation of traditional Buddhist traditions in the East, and to the support the establishment of a genuine transmission of Buddhism to the West.
